Ebtihal Al-Alwi
Program Coordinator
Ebtihal Al-Alwi (she/her) is a thoughtful, community-centered professional who believes deeply in the power of education, dialogue, and human connection to create lasting change. Her work is guided by a commitment to equity, cultural understanding, and building programs that support people in navigating challenges with confidence, dignity, and respect.
Ebtihal currently serves as a Program Coordinator at the Conflict Resolution Center, where she supports the Student Led Peer Mediation program. In this role, she works closely with schools, educators, and students to strengthen communication skills, encourage peaceful problem-solving, and help create more supportive and respectful school environments.
Previously, Ebtihal worked with the Immigrant Home Learning English (IHELP) program, where her professional journey reflected both dedication and growth. She began her role as a Program Coordinator and was later promoted to Program Manager, recognizing her leadership, organizational strengths, and ability to guide complex, people-centered programs. Over five years, she managed and supported more than 100 volunteers and students, facilitated trainings, and oversaw program operations. She also strengthened data tracking and reporting systems, conducted program outcome analysis, and led volunteer recruitment efforts that increased participation by 30 percent. Her time at IHELP deepened her passion for accessible education, community engagement, and supporting immigrant families through relationship-based learning.
Earlier in her career, Ebtihal worked internationally with the National Democratic Institute for Foreign Affairs, as a Senior Program Officer for Women’s Political Participation. There, she designed and led more than 80 training sessions focused on leadership, advocacy, and civic engagement. She also launched two national programs supporting over 200 women activists across 100 nongovernmental organizations and directed a Young Women’s Leadership School, equipping participants with the skills and confidence to lead within their communities.
Ebtihal is a Fulbright Scholar and received the Fulbright Scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in Public Policy at Monmouth University in New Jersey. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics. She brings a global, cross-cultural perspective to her work. At the heart of everything she does is a belief in listening first, building trust, and supporting communities through collaboration, education, and care.
