Missouri Good Neighbor Week
September 28th – October 4th, 2024 was Missouri Good Neighbor Week. Signed into law in 2022, Missouri Good Neighbor Week encourages citizens of Missouri to “participate in events and activities to establish connections with their neighbors”. In 2023, their goal was to document 15,000 acts of neighboring….and they surpassed the goal! In 2024 their goal was 20,000 Acts of Neighboring being reported across Missouri. Being a good neighbor is important year-round!

Partner Tours 2024 🚌
Members of CRCSTL’s programs team had the opportunity to visit some of our nonprofit partner agencies in late September and early October. CRCSTL works alongside other local nonprofit service agencies every single day in order to best serve our clients. Touring these other nonprofits who also serve the St. Louis region helps us fully understand each agency and work through how we can all work together to better serve our community!
Tours this year included: Employment Connections, Youth & Family Center, Life for Life Gym, Guardian Angels, Annie Malone Children & Family Services, and Better Family Life. Thank you to our partner organizations for hosting us and educating our team on your available services.
Wrap Around Service Program Begins!
CRCSTL started a new program in 2024 called Wrap Around Services, created and led by CRCSTL Programs Manager, Denise Poplar. Every 6 weeks, a group of volunteers and staff gather to reach back out to clients who used our services in the last 6 weeks. Client feedback allows us to offer additional resources if needed and helps inform our team on ways to continue to improve our services.
Client comments are overwhelmingly positive with clients reporting a sense of relief at having been listened to and able to release negative feelings of frustration. They often report feeling appreciative for the help moving forward.
September Reflective Practice Circle 🤓
CRCSTL mediators met on September 25, 2024 to share and reflect on their recent work, cases, and results. Thank you to Lee Walter for leading the group and allowing space to help everyone learn from one another. CRCSTL staff, mediators, and volunteers are a dedicated group of life-long learners as part of our mission.
OVP Kickback - Hickey Park ☀️
The September OVP Kickback was held in Hickey Park. Community events like these are crucial to our outreach efforts and getting to speak with citizens who can benefit from our work is always a pleasure. Of course, we are always happy to have the opportunity to spread the word about our free services around conflict coaching, mediation, conflict resolution and promoting de-escalation in hopes of preventing violence.
These are FREE neighborhood events, providing residents a place to gather for food, music and entertainment. Each future event will be hosted in new locations on the third Saturday of every month.
