Student-led Peer Mediation Training Starts This Week at the St. Louis Public Library!

This is the first in a series of trainings hosted at the St. Louis Public Library at Central Library every Thursday evening through May 9. These trainings are for youth grades 9-12 wanting to learn more about conflict resolution and are a part of our Student-led Peer Mediation program. Basic Core (Rule 17) Training 📚💻

The new cohort of Basic Core (Rule 17) Training began on March 29, 2024. CRCSTL offers this training opportunity for both new and experienced participants to have the opportunity to learn about the process of mediation. The course takes mediation step-by-step through interactive coursework, active input from participants, and mediation role plays keyed toward topics in community mediation and CRCSTL staff.

This is a 16-hour course that takes place over 2 days at the CRCSTL offices. Look for sign-ups for the next training to take place this summer-fall.

OVP Kickback - Baden 📚

We had a great time out in the community and tabling at the February Kickback Event hosted by the St. Louis City’s Office of Violence Prevention (OVP). We are always happy to have the opportunity to spread the word about our free services around conflict resolution and promote de-escalation in hopes of preventing violence. This month’s event was held at Living With Purpose in Baden on February 17, 2024.

These are free neighborhood events, providing residents a place to gather for food, music and entertainment. Each future events will be hosted in new locations on the third Saturday of every month.
